You learn something new

Image
Not one to have ever had lots of pictures taken of me, I am now scrounging around a little to find suitable pictures to place on an online dating website. Yeah, it was time to try something new. At least it is new to me. And although I have only signed up a few hours ago, some fine-sounding guys have said "hello". It's a bit strange to first meet someone electronically. I'm so used to observing the facial expressions, the body language, etc. All that unspoken stuff. A shy smile, an impromptu giggle, a coy look, a fun little dance down the sidewalk. I suppose the email chats are just the foot in the door and then one can head down the more traditional path of actually meeting and gazing upon one another. Somewhere I have some more interesting shots of snowmobiling in the arctic mountains and fishing the Quetico muddy pools. Now where did I put them????

Pretty

Just pretty. And it's my favourite season.

Mermaid's back!

Not that I want to be. Honestly, each time I go to camp now, it becomes harder to point the vehicle away and return to the job and the house. ( I w arned my boss that it could happen soon, my "non-return"). I think it is because I am approaching the attainment of the DREAM. To build the garage and studio and to begin using it. I can taste it now folks. It is easy to visualize it now. I can start to use the studio even with the old furniture and stuff I have put in there just now. So I have my hand on the DREAM and can feel it. Basically the wool stash has to be transported there somehow - anyone have an eighteen wheeler? Bear with me while I gloat and show you some pictures of the third and final propane stove. This one is in the studio. One warming shelf is still missing. There are some funky mitten warmers too. Take a look. You pull the steel rod up and catch it on the edge of the shelf and hang your dog-hair covered sock. Or mittens. Very cool, don't you think? and ye...

Camp Beckons

I know. It hasn't been long since I returned from camp. Eh? This is my favourite season and I can't stay away. I have no willpower. And well, I have a good excuse to return now. The propane dudes will be back to install the final free-standing stove. The one for the studio. Aside from the fact this 350 lb sucker will have to be humped up a few stairs, I think it will go smoothly. Then I will surely be the Queen of the Lake. So once the stove is in, I can start to set up the studio as a studio. So you know what that means Friends? The Northwest's fanciest bunkie is no longer. I think you will all be tenting from now on. Once I get my knitting spread out, sewing machines 'a humming, and silver jewellery bench all set up - there is no turning back. Early retirement is looming. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'll catch up with you once I'm back. Oh hey - saw a great quote today, something like this. We do not stop playing when we get old. We get old when we stop pla...

Booby Mushrooms

Image
Self explanatory. I'm not a fungus expert. I can tell you that the rock shot is a nepheline syenite. The area is rife with them. And the mountain ashes put on a spectacular display. Great day. Wish you were here.

Wolf Camp Lake Hill

Image
Today's adventure involved a little climb up a hill. See the little lake beside the highway, Yeah, from there. Going downhill was faster. Much. But what a gorgeous day and the colours were spectacular. This is very close to where I live. In fact you can see the pulp mill in one image. And the town is right beside it. Two gals, three dogs and two somewhat firmer tushies made the round trip. Have a great day everyone.

Pebble Beach

A few shots come to you tonight from Pebble Beach. I grabbed the new camera. It is set at the lowest resolution for now, in order to cram in a lot of test shots while I'm out hiking. I haven't had time yet to start in on the manuals. But the few things I've tried so far are pretty intuitive. The dogs were on leash and so yanking on my arm. So I think the broad lake shot is a little crooked. Whatever. It was a great walk and the sky was interesting.
